The Straw That Broke The Fossil Fuel Economy’s Back

BP has done its best to reduce the visible toll of the oil spill, by using dispersants to keep the damage underwater and by prevent journalists from visiting oiled beaches, but photos have finally gotten out. For those who had any doubt that we must move beyond our carbon-based economy, I hope that these pictures will change their minds. The justifications have been there for decades; these pictures are just further confirmation. Our current economy pollutes our air, warms our atmosphere, kills our oceans and enriches our enemies. Put plainly, it sucks. With Obama leading the way, we can and must make the change to a carbon-free economy.
